Citronella (Cymbopogon winterianus) Therapeutic properties as an antiseptic, deodorant, insecticide, parasitic, tonic. Citronella’s properties are similar to Lemongrass. Used to keep insects at bay, for example combining it with Cedarwood, Lavender, Patchouli or Eucalyptus. You can diffuse the blend. Because of its association with insect repellency, citronella is usually overlooked as an aromatherapy oil. That's a shame because citronella possesses warming and activating qualities on both the physical and mental levels. Citronella is often used in fly repellent formulas for use with horses and around the farms. Blends well with a lot of different oils, Lavender, Neroli, Ylang Ylang, Rose, Sandalwood, Frankincense, Geranium, Fennel, Tea Tree, resinous Essential Oils and many others.
